The retirement of Tom Greene (MI), Vice President of Program, and Mary Freel, (NE) Region 6 Director, adds two more NSO Executive Committee positions to be elected at the 2017 NSO Representative Assembly in Atlanta on June 9-10. Candidates elected to the positions will be finishing out the two-year terms of Greene and Freel.Tom Greene said, “Serving on the NSO Executive Committee has been one of the greatest experiences as an NSO member. I’ve met so many amazing people and I’m sorry to leave my position as Vice President of Program. But I’m looking forward to enjoying my retirement and the new experiences it will bring.”
This year, the odd-numbered Region Directors (1,3,5,7) and the At-Large A and B Director positions are also up for election for two-year terms beginning June 10, 2017 until June 2019.
Any active NSO member is eligible to run for any of the positions. In accordance with Article VIII, Section 1 of the NSO Constitution and Bylaws, a candidate must submit a Candidate Petition signed by at least (3) three active NSO members to NSO Secretary, Dawn Basurto (firstname.lastname@example.org), no later than 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017.
Also, any active NSO member may be nominated from the RA floor for an open position. The nominee must be a member in good standing of NSO and submit a Candidate Petition with the signatures of three (3) active NSO members to the NSO Secretary (Article VIII, Section 2).
Candidates should review the NSO Campaign Rules and Election Regulations before submitting a Candidate Petition.
Elections will be held on Saturday, June 10.
