The retirement of Tom Greene (MI), Vice President of Program, and Mary Freel, (NE) Region 6 Director, adds two more NSO Executive Committee positions to be elected at the 2017 NSO Representative Assembly in Atlanta on June 9-10. Candidates elected to the positions will be finishing out the two-year terms of Greene and Freel.
Dr. Elaine Bernard is no stranger to the National Staff Organization or the Representative Assembly.
The 2017 NSO RA will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA from June 9-10, 2017. Early registration will be on Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with regular registration beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017, prior to the start of the RA.
RA delegates will be voting on a proposed new budget that does not include a dues increase.
After several years of joint national and regional meetings, Coordinated Bargaining Councils (CBC) will be meeting regionally this fall. In the future, the plan is to a host regional and national meetings every other year. In 2018, there will be a national CBC for all regions.
